Response to the 2023 Speech from the Trone by the Government of New Brunswick

In response to the Speech from the Throne by the Government of New Brunswick, the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce would like to express its enthusiasm regarding the prospects for growth and diversity put forward for our province. We are particularly touched by the recognition of Acadian figures and Acadian culture, which plays an essential role in the economic and cultural fabric of New Brunswick.

However, while recognizing these efforts, we wish to express certain concerns. Francophone businesses, particularly those located in rural areas, face unique challenges. We urge the government to implement specific policies and programs to support these businesses, promote French-speaking entrepreneurship and stimulate innovation in rural regions.

We encourage the government to strengthen dialogue with key players in the Francophone and rural business community. In this regard, we propose to organize an upcoming meeting with government officials to discuss these concerns in-depth and collaboratively.

We are ready to work closely with the government to develop effective strategies and ensure that the economic potential of Francophone and rural businesses is fully realized. We hope that this collaboration will lead to concrete actions that will benefit the entire francophone and rural business community of New Brunswick.

Sincerely,

— Anthony Azard, Chief Executive Officer

— Natalie Cormier, Chair of the Board of Directors
