STATEMENT — Fire at the Elphège & Norbert LeBlanc Ltd. Smokehouse

CAP-ACADIE, NB, February 14, 2025 – The Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce has been informed of the incident that occurred late this afternoon involving a fire at the Elphège & Norbert LeBlanc Smokehouse, located in the Petit-Cap area of the Regional Town of Cap-Acadie. We want to express our full support to the owners during this difficult time.

“We are deeply saddened by this unfortunate incident affecting yet another business in our region. While the exact circumstances remain unknown, our thoughts are with the owners and their team during this challenging time,” said Natalie Cormier, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce.

“Our hearts go out to Marc and Donna Cormier. The Chamber stands ready to offer its support and guide them toward the appropriate resources to help them through this ordeal,” added Anthony Azard, CEO of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce.

We continue to closely monitor the situation alongside the relevant parties. We sincerely thank everyone for their understanding and express our deep gratitude to the various fire brigades in the region, especially the Cap-Acadie brigade, for their swift response to the emergency call.
