NOTICE TO MEMBERS — Changes to annual dues

In October 2022, the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce launched a study into the possibility of reviewing its membership rates. Last November, a research report was presented to the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce team, then to the Board of Directors in March 2023.

In light of the report’s recommendations, the Board of Directors carried a resolution on May 25, 2023 wishing to recommend the new rates and scale to the organization’s members at the next Annual General Meeting.

Following the Annual General Meeting of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce on June 22, members voted unanimously for a complete refresh of the organization’s annual membership fees.

Starting June 26new members of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce will pay the newly adopted fees. As of July 1, the new rates will be applied automatically for current members of the organization when you renew your membership, on the anniversary month of your registration with the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce. You will then receive an automatic invoice by e-mail.

Several key factors explain the decision to increase and completely revise the annual rates offered to members:

  • Firstly, the dues increase will enable the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce to increase its financial resources. This will make it possible to fund new programs and initiatives for members, such as training seminars, networking events, mentoring services and business development opportunities. By investing more in these activities, the Chamber will be able to offer significant added value to its members and help them prosper in an ever-changing economic environment.
  • Subsequently, the dues increase will help the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce strengthen its capacity to defend the interests of its members. With additional financial resources, the Chamber will be able to hire lobbyists, conduct awareness campaigns and support initiatives aimed at influencing public policy in favour of local economic interests. This will enable members to benefit from a strong, unified voice to face challenges and seize opportunities.
  • Thirdly, the dues increase will ensure the long-term financial stability of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce. By investing in its own viability, the Chamber will be able to continue to provide quality services and benefits to its members, maintain a skilled professional team and support its day-to-day operations efficiently. It also ensures that the Chamber can continue to play a key role in the region’s economic development over the long term.
  • Finally, it is important to note that the dues increase is the result of a thorough assessment of member needs and the costs associated with providing quality services. The Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce is committed to transparent and responsible management of its financial resources, ensuring that every dollar is invested strategically to maximize benefits for its members.

In short, the increase in annual dues for the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce is motivated by the desire to strengthen its commitment to its members, improve its services and benefits, defend local economic interests and guarantee its long-term viability. This strategic decision will enable the Chamber to continue to be a key player in promoting the economic development and prosperity of the Cap-Acadie region.
