CAP-ACADIE, NB, November 10, 2023 — While preparations for the 16th edition of the Les Barachois recognition gala are fast approaching, the Cap-Acadie business community is excited at the idea of knowing the finalists.
Scheduled for Saturday, November 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Saint-André-LeBlanc Community Centre, this flagship event celebrates the exceptional achievements in various sectors of activity of the Regional Town of Cap-Acadie and the members of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce in southeastern New Brunswick.
“The business community was impressed by the quality of our prestigious gala last year. By rethinking the name and image of our recognition evening, we are highlighting the community even more!” underlines the Chair of the Board of Directors, Natalie Cormier.
Among the most coveted distinctions, the Charles-Yvon-Landry Business of the Year category highlights businesses such as GL Wood Products, La Pharmacie Cap-Pelé, and Tediche Home Hardware from the Elmwood group, all renowned for being models in the community.
The spotlight also turns to the CBDC Westmorland Albert Emerging Business category, with candidates such as Bord d’la Mer Café & Bistro, Garderie des Petits Pêcheurs/Garderie Lisette, and Beaubassin-Est Self Storage, demonstrating that business growth or new businesses continues in the region.
The Women’s Leadership category Regional Town of Cap-Acadie highlights the importance of women leaders in the business world, with personalities such as Christine Duguay of Cap-Pelé Esso and Resto 577, Denise Léger of Physio Cap-Pelé, and Julie Richard from EXP Realty.
Vienneau Insurance Community Impact honours organizations or people who invest in the community. This year, the Beauséjour Family Crisis and Resource Centre, the Southeast Abilities Centre, and the Salle Grand-Barachois Hall are among the finalists.
In the Innovation Transparent Benefits category, businesses like Vinerie DesFruits Winery, WGR Trucking Ltd., and Happy Hour Club stand out for their innovative approach in their respective fields.
Finally, the Inclusion & Diversity Economic Development RSCSE category features exemplary companies such as Westmorland Fisheries Ltd, Hygiene Machines, and Cape Bald Packers, which actively promote diversity and inclusion within or as part of their operations.
“Every business is already a winner. The fact that those around us recognize the impact that these companies have in Cap-Acadie testifies to the success they have in the region. Now, let’s leave the committee with the hard task of selecting the winners,” says Ms. Cormier.
