CAP-ACADIE, NB, January 27, 2025 — The Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce officially launches Mission Cap-Acadie: a strategic initiative to strengthen the future of the region.
In a context of socio-economic and political transformation, the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Town of Cap-Acadie are joining forces to defend the region’s priorities and strategic projects while promoting productive exchange and partnerships with different levels of government, starting with the provincial government. A first mission will take place from January 29 to 31 in the New Brunswick capital.
Anthony Azard, Chief Executive Officer of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce, emphasizes the need and importance of this mission: “There was a crucial need: to ensure that our region’s priorities, such as economic development, attracting workers and improving public infrastructure, are at the heart of decisions. The political context is changing rapidly, and we must adapt on the provincial, federal and even international scene to ensure the prosperity of our businesses.”
The challenges facing Cap-Acadie are varied: the need to support local entrepreneurs, consideration of major infrastructure and environmental projects, and issues related to the economic and tourist vitality of the region.
The two entities are independent of each other, but most priorities remain similar. It is necessary that local voices continue to be heard, even after the reform of local governance that has shaken up the municipal landscape of the province.
“The mission we will soon launch is a concrete example of our commitment to the citizens and entrepreneurs of Cap-Acadie. By joining forces, we can better advocate for local priorities and build a more prosperous and sustainable future for our region. It is essential that our voices are heard at all levels of government,” adds the mayor of Cap-Acadie, Serge Léger.
The Cap-Acadie Mission is committed to playing an active role in the development and implementation of policies that meet the specific needs of the region, particularly for French-speaking minority communities.
The delegation, composed of municipal and economic leaders, illustrates an unprecedented strategic collaboration. Together, they form a unified voice, ready to innovate, adapt and defend the region’s critical issues. Following this first mission, the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce will evaluate other lobbying opportunities in various contexts with the Regional Town of Cap-Acadie.
