CAP-ACADIE, NB, October 29, 2024 – The first-ever State of Cap-Acadie, presented by Acadian Construction, took place last night at Fred’s Restaurant in the Cap-Pelé area of the Regional Town of Cap-Acadie. The event, which brought together over 50 community members, local leaders and partners, was marked by a dynamic atmosphere and an enthusiastic welcome.
Organized by the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce, this unique evening aimed to provide an overview of projects and initiatives underway for the development of the region. Through discussions and presentations, the mayor Serge Léger and CEO of the Chamber, Anthony Azard, were able to exchange views on local governance, infrastructure development and Cap-Acadie’s economic outlook. The presentation of progress on issues such as the Regional Intergenerational Centre, the diversification of health services, and sustainable development initiatives was greeted with interest and enthusiasm by the audience.
The Regional Town of Cap-Acadie also announced a new infrastructure project: 4 Seasons Park. This park will feature an outdoor stage, splash pad, a space for a potential farmer’s market, and multipurpose facilities to host various activities. Located in the Grand-Barachois area, near the Barachois Historical Church, this project promises to become a dynamic gathering place for the community.
The Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce is delighted with the success of this first edition, which highlighted the community’s commitment to a prosperous future. The lively discussions, the welcoming setting of Restaurant Fred’s and the common desire to move Cap-Acadie forward made this event a powerful moment for sharing and reflection.
“This first edition of State of Cap-Acadie marks a turning point for our community, where we were able to unite our efforts for the development and improvement of our region. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to all participants for their presence and their valuable contribution to the discussions,” said Anthony Azard, CEO of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce.
“Participating in the first edition of the State of Cap-Acadie was a true honour and an opportunity to see our community come together around a common vision for the future. This kind of event is essential to strengthening our ties and encouraging the development of projects that reflect the needs and aspirations of all Cap-Acadie citizens,” said a visibly enthusiastic Serge Léger, Mayor of the Regional Town of Cap-Acadie.
The Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Town of Cap-Acadie, partners from the outset, are looking forward to the next steps towards inclusive, diversified and growth-oriented development. The Town fully recognizes the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce as an essential partner in the region’s economic development.
The Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the official presenter of the Construction Acadienne event, as well as its Champion partner, Englobe. The Board of Directors and team of the Cap-Acadie Chamber of Commerce will be meeting in the coming weeks to do a post-mortem of the event.
